First of all I must thank you for making my 30th birthday very memorable!
Despite my outgoing persona, I am not so fond of a big fuss centered all around me and I couldn't't have coped with a party - far too much of an organiser and the thought of not being in control would have been too much for OCD tendencies!! However - I had some beautiful cards and presents and some fancy dress (a-la 80's cheesy aerobics clothes in my Saturday class) and I got to share some great laughs and memories with the people who have been in my life the longest and some very dear people who have not long arrived in it..... Here's to the next chapter and should I ever reach 50 - Dear God NO - then I truly hope I am as blessed as I am right now 😉
So what has been happening in Lindsayland since I last scribbled away? Well we are closer to the 'C' word and that brings its own excitement and horrors. I am planning the last FAT2FIT course, starting early November and will give you the chance of dropping some pounds before the festive season gets going in December. If you are a regular class member, then look out for the discounted price. Hope this makes it tempting to try and get a grip before you give in to temptation!
Fitness Pilates has been an amazing success and I now 'get IT'. You have to be ready to embrace the pace and I knew I had to be physically excited by wanting to teach something that is SO the opposite of all I have ever done - for 25 years - and I am pleased to say I am. Totally, completely, head-over-heels enjoying it and all it does for me and my participants. You gotta try it next year if you haven't already. FP is not all mat-based. It's thoughtful, strong and powerful and reaches parts of you that you never realised you had;-) We have a few weeks to go before the Half Term starting Monday 29th October. Look below for some class cancellations during this week.
BORN2RUN. I have ten new girls in my run club. Launched a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to help train anyone with none or a little run experience to be able to run 6 miles in 8 weeks. We shall be starting week two as I send this out. We are all at different levels and ages. Some are already running for half an hour, some are mixing walking and running for a given time. We have a group session soon where we will all run or run/walk 3 miles. My aim was to give the group a new focus to work out and if necessary, out of the house training before they go to work. Organising and prioritsing family, work and social life. Watch the next newsletter for a report on their progress. A new group will be launched after Christmas. Perfect resolution time;-)
CLASS INFORMATION. All of my classes generally roll along nicely from week to week, ebbing and flowing with what's on offer elsewhere in DorchVegas. I have weathered most storms this year and am quite happy with my lot really. Monday evening Body Shock Circuits is a mixed bunch of ages, abilities and I am so happy to say, male and females - though am always on the lookout for more testosterone in class - so if you do have a partner who would like to try, then bring him along for FREE and see if he can match you pace! STEP is my answer to a dance class and I love choreographing routines for the Tuesday and Thursday classes. It is a tough class to join if you have never done a class before and true - if you do not have a musical bone in your body - you will take longer to pick it up - but I love a challenge and if you fancy trying something new, then get in touch. New to step can have a trial for FREE (the 'F' word again!!!) Text me though, as have to book you in to the class.. Tis great fun;-) I teach two older adult fitness classes, in Poundbury on a Tuesday morning and in Dorchester on Wednesday afternoon. They both could do with more participants and if you recommend someone to those classes who comes along, YOU can have a class for FREE (a different class, if you're recommending your mum or dad to come, for instance!) Bums on seats as halls and venues have to be paid for and though I LOVE my job, I have to pay the bills too and sometimes it's a close call, so if you can help me, then I will re pay your kindness;-) Small Group Training classes are brilliant. Sharing the cost of a Personal Trainer and using all sorts of kit to sculpt your body and burn stubborn fat. Limited in numbers which make them easy to tailor to specific needs. NO CO-ORDINATION NEEDED! And finally, Friday morning Total Body Tone. A bit of everything class, followed by coffee and sometimes cake - not sure why, but always a popular class! AD-HOC CLASSES. I usually book courses in blocks of 6 weeks to follow the school term, but this time I have one week spare before half term and so during the week of 22nd October a few classes, namely Fitness Pilates are not booked up. I am now taking bookings for these extra sessions. Priority will be given to those who are on the course already, but if you would like to try FP then contact me to go on the list for either Monday at 10.30am - Wednesday at 6.30pm or Thursday at 9.30am. Cost per class is £6 - a great opportunity to try FP as each course has been full.
